ASHRAE Technical Committee 8.5 - Liquid-to-Refrigerant Heat Exchangers

ACTIVITIES

TC8.5 is concerned with the thermal and mechanical design, performance, and application of devices for accomplishing heat transfer between refrigerants (including secondary refrigerants) and liquids. Such devices include liquid cooled refrigerant condensers and refrigerant evaporators for cooling liquids.

The Committee sponsors Research Projects, which are a way to further knowledge in our field.

We provide valuable assistance in the writing and revision of those chapters in the Handbook for which we are responsible.

We often sponsor one or more Seminars at the Society National Meetings. This is a good opportunity to let others know what TC 8.5 is doing.

Finally, we are also involved with the writing and revision of ASHRAE/ANSI standards 22 and 24.

The committee meetings are where the action is, so don't miss them. They are a good way for TC members to become more closely involved with the activities of the committee.
